ABOUT

2015

August 2015. Ireland! I am here!

So, I am in Ireland for the hole year. Time to be seep inside of Irish Traditional Music and Irish Culture. Time to change the history of Irish Music. That's because I am here and that's why I got this chance.

I will do my best!

March 2015. Wait for me, University of Limerick!

Got a letter of my dream from Sandra Joyce, Director of Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in UL. I have been awarded a full scholarship which will cover my fees for the MA Irish Traditional Music Performance!

Now it's my time.

February 2015. Sudden trip to Ireland

I was invited for an audition in Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. Again I was there, in the place of my dream! And again I was playing for great Director of Academy Sandra Joyce. I hope she like it and I will be back here...

And also I was in Miltown Malbay for a great Concertina Cruinniu Festival. Met my mentor Noel Hill and got some words of support from him.

November 2014. Comhaltas trip to Ireland

I opened the very first official Comhaltas Branch in Russia. I decided to call it Brian Pryor's Branch in honor of Brian Pryor. All of Russian Irish musicians started from his tune-books.. And he was really interested in collaboration with Russia. So sad that he passed away...

I was invited by Siobhan Ni Chonarain to come to Cultúrlann na hÉireann and spend a couple of days there.

I met great musicians there (e.g. Tom Doorley, fiddle player of Danu) and got many many materials for the growing up of myself and other Russian Irish Musician.

I hope that will change the way of learning Irish Traditional Music in Russia. I hope....

July 2014. I am coming back.

I got another letter from Sandra Joyce (Director of Irish World Academy of Music and Dance). She wanted to meet me personally. After that letter I started play music again.

Also one of my friends invited me for Willie Clancy Summer School again. So, probably this was a great chance to come back.

April 2014. My way to the University of Limerick is closed. Probably in Irish Music as well

I received a letter from Sandra Joyce (Director of Irish World Academy) stating that no scholarship for my education.

It was the greatest and the longest depression in my life. I did not play and did not listen Irish Music for two months after that day. I realy thought that I would never play music again.

March 2014. My audition in Irish World Academy of Music and Dance

I had a Skype-conference with Sandra Joyce, Director of Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. We were speaking probably one hour and a half. My playing was crap, but I was really happy. I made the very first step to my dream.

February 2014. Trip to Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare and new idea

I came back in lovely Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare for Noel Hill Irish School. I was really happy to meet Noel and my friends again.

Many tunes were learnt, many concertina tricks as well. But when I came back I got a crazy idea. I wrote a letter in Irish World Academy in University of Limerick. Should I get a chance to be a student? This is the question.

May 2011. Left my band

My 6 years way in Slua Si band is over now. I left this band for my growing up in Irish Concertina Music. And I did not want to let them down. Probably we will play together again but now the circus has left and clowns ran away.

But I will be really thankful to Yuri Andreychuk, my very first teacher in Irish Music and leader of this band. Thank you for everything, my friend.

July 2010. Got my first concertina

I came back to Ireland. I was in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim. And I got my first concertina from my teacher Noel Hill. So excited.

February 2010. My first trip to Ireland. I will be never the same again

In February 2010 I decided to come in Ireland for my first time. I found the information about Noel Hill Irish Concertina School in Ballyvaughan. Co.Clare and I got an invitation there.

It was the greates week of my life. Noel Hill is a real teacher, teacher and musician from God. He changed my mind, my ideas and my understanding of Irish Traditional Music for ever.

And I was really lucky. My first visited concert in Ireland was a concert of Frankie Gavin (legendary fiddle player of De Dannan), Noel Hill (concertina grandmaster) and Arty McGlynn (amazing guitar player). I never heard THAT Irish Music before. And just then I understood that I was really in the very first stair of long long staircase called Irish Traditional Music. I was born again.

May 2006. I got an invitation from Slua Si band to be a guitar player

I was really thrilled then. I got an invitation to be a guitar player in a very first Russian band played Irish Traditional Music that I heard. I was working really hard, I used many Irish Guitar video-tutorials to improve my playing. And I got a chance to show what I can do on the stage. New chapter of my life.

And especially I was thrilled to play with Yuri Andreychuk on the stage. With my first teacher. I think it was great experience.

June 2005. Now I am BA of Mathematician, System Programmer

So, that's all folks. My 5 years in Moscow State University are over. I can only say "I am happy". And I hope that knowledges that I got would me helpful for me.

November 2004. I was invited in my very first Irish music band

I got a call from my friend and he told me that his band is looking for a lead-vocal. And I decided to join them. My first experience on the stage playing Irish Music, singing and playing.....tenor-banjo.

I had a big influence of Barney McKenna (The Dubliners )and I was playing banjo for two years just for myself, without teacher.

We all were truly fricks than, we were playing some folk-punk-rock music in Pogues style but it was a great experience on the stage for me.

During next year we had many gigs and concerts in Moscow, St. Peterburg and Vyborg. I am happy that was happened with me. Thanks, guys!

January 2001. My first Irish Traditional Music concert

My friend gave me a call and invited me to the concert of Irish Traditional Music. I had no idea what it is and what kind of music it is. But I was really bored then and I decided to go with her.

It was a concert of very first band which started play ITM in Russia. Band called Slua Si. Leader of this band Yuri Andreychuk is only professional Gaeilge speaker in Moscow and in Russia. His band made a great collaboration between Irish dance music and Irish ballads.

This concert changed my mind. I never forget it. But then I understood what I want to do for ever.. I want play Irish Traditional Music, I want to be a part of it. I did not know then what would happen in my life.. It was a beginning of a long way. And I do not regret anything.

I did not know that Yuri becomes my first teacher in ITM, I did not know that I will play concertina and will be a student of UL.. But this is another story.

September 2000. I became a student of Moscow State University named M.V. Lomonosov

It's time to learn high-level mathematics, programming and many other siences.

May 1999. No more theatre in my life. Sad...

My parents want me to be a mathematician. Do I really want it? I don't think so. But I have to do it to honour them. So, close all of my feelings and thinkings. Time to prepare for exams.

Unfortunately now I have no time to come in theatre for rehearsals. Sad... I was crying when I understood that...

But I will be back. Maybe as an actor, maybe not. Will live will see.

March 1999. My last performance as an actor

It was a theatrical festival in Moscow. We presented our spectacle called "Krylov's Fables" and we have been awarded grand prix. I will never forget this years in Music Theatre. And I am sure that my classical vocal skills would be help me in the future.

Yes, I played a role of Lion there :)

September 1990. I became an actor in Music Theatre

I will never forget my first time in Theatre. This is magic. I was very small than but I still remember my first Actor Art class..We made a small spectacle of children song about small ducklings. I was played a role of Duckling number 3. That was really funny but it was my first show on the stage. With another 10 "ducklings" we were singing "We are ducklings, we are ducklings, we are stamping on the street. We waddle and quackle this song".

Also there was my first singing and sol-fa class. I use that skills till today.

Great time!
